Now in its 7th year, Sydney BarShow is the country’s leading event for bar professionals, attracting over 6,800 visitors and over 150 exhibitors in 2007. Sydney BarShow has expanded over the years to include a series of other events including, the Australian bar awards, the Sydney BarShow Conference, and the Bartender Magazine Bartender of the Year Competition.

Now in its 8th year, the Australian bar awards is firmly established as the premier awards night for the bar industry attracting hundreds of bar professionals from around Australia every year. Over 700 of Australia’s leading bar professionals gathered at the Sydney Hilton Hotel, Grand Ballroom in 2008 in anticipation of who would be walking out with the awards.

The Sydney BarShow Conference was launched in 2006 to give leading bar owners and operators a dedicated day of seminars targeting issues specific to their needs. In 2007, over 80 of Australia’s leading bar owners, operators and managers listened to speakers such as John Franks from Merivale, John Duncan & Fraser Short from Keystone Hospitality, Richard Sauerman from Brand Alchemy, and James Slack from Pernod Ricard.

Auckland BarShow 08 proudly brought to you by NZ Bartender magazine is now in its 3rd year. The New Zealand bar market and drinks industry is deserving of its own dedicated BarShow and this was proved over the 2 years the show has been running, which attracted over 2,500 visitors and over 80 exhibitors in 2007. Auckland BarShow is New Zealand’s only true stand-alone tradeshow dedicated to the bar market.

The New Zealand bar awards now in its 3rd year is recognised as the Oscars of the bar industry. The popular event attracts over 300 leading bar professionals who attend the gala dinner and watch as 15 awards are handed out to the country’s finest. Categories included ‘Bar of the Year’, ‘Wine Bar of the Year’, ‘Pub of the Year’ and ‘Bartender of the Year’, among others.
