Australia’s six best flair bartenders will compete at Sydney BarShow 08 this September to be crowned Australian Bartender Magazine’s Flair Champion! Each contestant will need to perform both a performance and working flair routine along with a few other mystery tasks in front of a packed audience of Sydney BarShow trade visitors while being judged by a panel of bartending experts which includes competition head judge and one of the world's leading flair bartenders, Mr. Leeroy Petersen.

The Prize
The winner will receive a once in a lifetime trip to Monte Carlo to compete in the SKYY Flair Global Challenge against the world’s leading flair bartenders! The prize will include return flights, accommodation, plus spending money!! And if this isn’t enough Australian Bartender magazine will be doing a full page story on your amazing win! How to Enter
The heats for the SKYY Vodka Bartender Magazine Flair Championship have been announced. The heats will be held at Soho/YU, Sydney on 16 September. Top scorers at the heats will then move on to the grand final at the Sydney BarShow, 18 September, to perform in front of a packed BarShow crowd. The winner of the Flair Championship will win a trip to Monte Carlo to compete in the SKYY Global Flair Championship. If you think you got what it takes to win a shot at the world’s biggest global flair comp in Monte Carlo then email championship head judge Mr Leeroy Peterson at leeroy@twistedliquid.com.au to secure your spot in the heats.
The top six contestants will be announced on the Sydney BarShow website www.barshow.com.au on Friday 1st August 2008 at 12:00pm. All contestants must make their own way to the show to compete and must pre-register online for entry into the show.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
• Contestants must be 18 years or older to compete in the competition
• All contestants must work a minimum two days per week in a Australian licensed venue
• All bottles will be provided for all contestants
• No fire flair or pyrotechnics are to be used during routines.
• Contestants may use any pour spout that they wish, and are allowed to tape in the pour spout if preferred
• Competitors may use their own bar backs if they wish to do so – all finalists will receive 2 x complimentary tickets to Sydney BarShow for bar backs
• The working flair bottles will be provided
• A minimum of 1/2oz (15mls) of liquid must be in the exhibition flair bottles. All bottles will be checked on stage prior to commencing
• Empty bottle flair is not permitted. Anyone using dry bottles will be penalised.
• All music must be in CD format, on ONE CD. It is recommended that you bring more than one copy with you and check that it works.
• Competitors may set up the bar however they want. Anything that is missing will be the competitor’s fault, so double check everything!
• Bar backs will be around all the time to help out. They will also help clean the bar after every competitor and get you anything you may need.
• No plastic bottles are allowed during your performance
• No nudity or obscene lyrics in your music are to be used during your routine
• We will provide you with store and pours, ice scoop, straws, beverage napkins and tea towels
• We will have some pour spouts
